Sometimes it is just fun to surf the web and curate while sipping some coffee on a Saturday morning. I find myself bouncing from one site to another. Exploring anything from fashion, lifestyle, health, or pop culture. Today I have found a few fashion pieces that have my eye. It all started with the black suede Neous boots. They are sculptural, elegant, and funky in my opinion. The boots speak for themselves. Seriously this heel is amazing! Easily paired with any denim. Absolutely digging these mid rise, straight leg in light denim from the Brock Collection. The Acne Studios bomber style jacket found on Vestiaire Collective is just cozy like a teddy bear but hip because it is from always edgy Acne! The icing on the cake are these Rebecca De Ravenel’s two drop earrings. Soft pink, I like it! xo
I own you Friday! I can say ninja mama showed up to play today. Big jump literally with my workout. A total leg day since my damn shoulder is acting up. Single leg squats and 50 box jumps ruled the hour. It was fun, rewarding and I am damn proud it. Sometimes you have to recognize the hard work and consistency that you put into something. I feel strong today and I am taking full advantage of the opportunity. Bonus, it is only 11 am! Maybe my new Nike Pro Sparkle tights really do come with the “Just Do It” attitude. Coffee time!!
Goal: To land like a ninja!
Hell Yeah! Juice Press takeout today:) Just add the dressing to the layered salad and instant happiness. I am a big fan of salads and grains with lots of flavor! I will be adding a little heat with some hot sauce. When is lunch? Maybe now! Bon Appetit
Funny how a snowstorm can stop you in your tracks. Over the weekend much of the East coast was recovering from a massive snowstorm followed by ridiculously chilly temperatures. The city of Boston and surrounding areas came to a halt and schools were canceled after just coming off the holiday break. Parents very much welcoming the reunion with routine.
Mother nature had a different agenda. What came from this was sort of magical. A flashback to my childhood. I remember winters filled with snow days. Days that kept me outside like it or not playing in the snow, pond skating, making snow angels and building snow forts. My brother and I had the rosy cheeks, frozen toes, and dressed like Ralphie’s little brother in A Christmas Story. All to be followed by Nestle hot chocolate with all the good stuff.
This weekend my son, Aleisi, and his visiting buddy, Hashim, relished in winning the lottery of a school cancellation for two consecutive snow days. They played outdoors for endless hours despite the frigid temps. It took no convincing. They were drawn to the fluffy, white, fresh snowfall that came to cover their knees. They shoveled sidewalks for cold hard cash, built snow forts, and enjoyed snowball fights. It was so fun to watch from the window. Kids being kids and enjoying the magic of a snowstorm and the bonus of an extra long weekend. Hot cocoa was enjoyed throughout the weekend and we even took in some ice skating. That was unexpected fun! Many laughs at myself (and I admit at others) but in the best ways! It has been some time since lacing up skates and pretending to be Dorothy Hamill. Still working on that:) I relived my childhood though the eyes of a ten and an eleven year old but from the comfort of inside while sipping hot coffee. It was fun to slow down and embrace the weather. But now I would love the snow to melt. We have things to do! xo
Meet my three best friends! At the moment they are all getting equal attention. Winter is rough on the skin and lips. Working Hands is a life saver! It is creamy to put on and absorbs immediately with no tacky residue. It is all business with results and cheap to boot. You can purchase on Amazon and have it when you wake up. My lip love and obsession is with Kiehl’s facial fuel. It is a no shine moisturizing lip balm from their men’s line (I stole it from my husband:) It is damn effective. The key ingredient is shea butter. No more dry lips and it feels heavenly. Last but not least, Vaseline is just a workhorse and not to ever be forgotten! One should always have this little jar in their arsenal bag. Apply it to lips, hands, feet etc.
Interesting fact: O’Keeffe’s roots date back 20 years. The hand cream was developed by a daughter for her father, Bill O’Keeffe. Is that not the sweetest bit to know about this product?! Bill was a rancher in the Klamath Basin, which is along the California and Oregon border. I am totally going to check out their other products specifically the healthy feet!
On to something new this 2018! A friend raves about this twice a day essential vitamin. Why is taking a vitamin seem so hard to remember? I love rituals , I love to exercise, I try to practice an overall balanced life style. A vitamin should be as easy for me as my morning coffee ritual. I am giving this a go and I am on day seven. Hopefully in about two to three weeks, I should be feeling some benefits. I am committed to staying the course and seeing if I can report back to you glowing results. I’m hoping for a full tank of gas and radiant skin. Stay tuned for a Ritual update!
Here is something perfect for you to do when you are trying to escape the frigid temperatures of New England! Or you just want to kick back and wait for 2018 to ring in!
Netflix is simply brilliant! The material they are delivering with their original content series could keep you in lock down for weeks. Imagine having one weekend of a “staycation” with your refrigerator stocked, shades drawn and phone off except for access to your food delivery app. Then you kick back in your sweats and go head to head with a mega Netflix marathon of binge watching. That would be amazing! Actually I have been there and know others too. Seriously, to give you a whole season in one drop is a total gift! Do you binge watch or do you spread them out?
Netflix just dropped The Crown, Season Two. The Crown is a drama series taking you through the life of Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth takes the throne at age 25. Her character takes you into her world of Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. The series draws you in immediately through the characters. You find yourself immersed in the history of Great Britain and into the intricate world of the Royal family while trying to comprehend how a 25-year-old woman becomes Queen of England.
Family drama, weak men in her government, and infidelity surround the young Queen as she takes on the monarchy. Her younger sister, Princess Margaret, is fascinating in every sense. She is glamorous, charming, explosive, a bit scandalous and rebellious all in the search of love that would ultimately need The Queen’s approval. Princess Margaret has my attention. The Crown represents a time and place in history that I find myself wanting to click my heels and magically visit. I love the fashion, the cars, the glamour, the lifestyle, and the societal norms. So The Crown, Season Two has been released. We are watching one epi at a time. I want it to last! Will there be a Season Three? I’m afraid to know and a year is dreadfully long to wait.
Fun fact: The most expensive tv series ever made! 130 million for Season One
