At the end of the day how much do we really wear everything in our closet? These past couple of months with only dressing for home has shifted my thought to focusing on a seasonless and timeless wardrobe. I have slowly been moving in this direction but for some reason letting go of pieces that I have not worn in ages seems easier said then done.
As I work on editing my closet which is proving to be a painful process. My goal is to simplify my wardrobe for spring/summer with hopes that fall/winter will follow suit. I wish for less choice when it comes to dressing in the morning. Holding on to pieces that fit me well and that I feel good wearing is the name of the game.
Regardless of the season, basics for me include: tanks, tees, and denim. Each spring/summer new tanks and tees replace worn out old ones. The hunt for replacement tanks led me to discovering the Who Shirt Company.
Who Shirt Company is one of those brilliant concepts where you say to yourself why didn’t I think of that?!. A shirt with a built in shelf for your boobs that is not an athletic top. The Who designs shirts made from 100% interlock Supima® cotton with a soft supportive built-in bra. No fuss, no straps, no restrictions just pure freedom. As the company says “This is also about eliminating all the unnecessary details of your life, so you can focus on the things that matter. It’s about simply being who you are.”
Libby Haan is the clever lady behind Who Shirt Co. The company’s core values include giving back, zero waste, and made in America. Each shirt is named after a woman that continues to inspire. The Athenian owl is their icon watching over you as a reminder to embrace all that you are.
Take a peek at their website here if you are needed of some basics and also check out FABSCRAP if you are interested in zero waste.
Embrace tie-dye because it’s in full force on the runways. If you care to invest in a piece then I suggest you do so now and wear it straight through summer. Not all tie-dye pieces will have you on board with this trend. But here are few selections that can easily be worked into a wardrobe. Maybe one piece would be fun to play with. The Raquel Allegra (California-based designer with an interesting approach to everyday wear) jumpsuit piqued my interest. It also checks the box for both trends: jumpsuit + tie-dye. Brace yourself, the cost of tie-dye is shockingly expensive!
There is never too much tartan and egg nog during the holidays. It is fun, festive, and traditional. Don’t just wear one piece. Mix and match many pieces together to really get into the spirit. Here is my selection from J.Crew to get you head to toe excited. They have a fab selection. FYI, holiday sale is in progress! Happy Holidays. Go tartan. It is a classic! There is nothing here that you can’t wear year after year. J.Crew
Something good to share! Beau Monde, a fashion magazine is partnering with a small town in the Beius Country of Romania to keep their craft alive by creating the brand Bihor Couture.
Fashion designers find their inspiration by traveling around the world and immersing themselves into different cultures and traditions to draw inspiration for their next line. Unfortunately they don’t always give those communities credit. But through the awareness and support of Beau Monde the story is changing. The local creators of Bihor can now sell their 100% authentic Romania design pieces online. Their handcrafted pieces are bold, bright, unique, and steep in tradition. The Beius Authentic Jacket is artwork, the scarf is fantastic, and the blouse is simply perfect. Pieces are for pre-order only due to the length of time that goes into each handcrafted and hand embroidered piece. Quality takes time. There is no mass manufacturing here in Bihor.
The video is eye-opening, beautiful, inspiring, and true! I want to visit these ladies. I want to befriend them. They are talented and don’t hold back any punches! I want to learn their craft. This story makes my heart sing and it deepens my love for authentic fashion. Connecting faces to stories is how messages can be conveyed. Thank you to my dear friend, solid liquids who shared this story with me. Keep them coming my way! I have been meaning to share this story and no better time than now. Discover Bihor Couture for yourselves and share this story.
Make room for some reasonably priced cords. Preferably a loose mid rise, wide leg, in a deep color will do for me. Looks like H&M wins. Alternate them with your denim. Pair them with a turtleneck and hoody or an over sized blazer but keep the turtleneck (big fan of the neck hugger). Cords look stylish, polished, and remain a classic. Keep it chic for fall and winter. So easy to wear for any age. Love them!

Time to swap out your basic tee for a basic black turtleneck. Always hunting for good black turtlenecks this time of year. Turtlenecks layer nicely under blazers, flannels, sweaters, and dresses. They can look simply chic and uncomplicated when worn alone. A classic must have for the cooler temperatures. Here are few to get you interested.
Here is a little something that we all can appreciate. Happy Sunday ladies!
Who doesn’t love coming home at the end of the day and immediately changing into loungewear?! I pretty much race up the stairs to change. But do you struggle a bit to find something that is stylish that is not full on pajama mode? If the doorbell rang would you hide?! The problem is that spending money on sleepwear/ loungewear can get over looked. But time to reconsider. Lunya is a game changer. They are shaking up the sleepwear world with luxury pieces that offer a refreshing modern spin to something that just lacked excitement and thoughtful design. The pieces are comfortable, flattering, and well just perfect for every woman. Lunya is meant to be seen and not hidden. Compliment with underbares.
Lunya, keep designing for the modern woman. isostilo is a big fan of yours. Thanks to my sister-in-law who gave me a lovely gift with Lunya lounge pieces. Best gift to receive!! All pics are from Lunya.
